Holiday Debut Blog Tour

I’m so excited to announce I’ll be co-hosting my first blog tour along with Holli from Hello Holli and Saskia from the Wolf and the Tree. We have 24 amazing bloggers who will be sewing holiday looks using a combination of our three patterns: the Fishtail Kimono, the Blue Ridge Dress & the Abby Footed Tights.

We’d love to introduce ourselves today and give you some information about our tour. Make sure to check out Holli & Saskia’s posts to get to know them better, too.

So a little bit about me. I started my pattern making career in a small custom shop in the bay area. Making special occasion dresses, suits and ready to wear clothes. All designing and pattern making was done in-house in a small shop. I worked for the most talented designer, Leona Guidace, and she quickly became a close friend and mentor. I still think back to working at DeCre with the fondest memories. After that, I went to work at Fox Racing, working as a product developer. I worked with designers and pattern makers to oversee production, mostly working on men’s outerwear and board shorts. As a product developer it was also my job to visit our production in China which was such a great experience. Both of these opportunities were so different but gave me a varied perspective on the apparel industry. In 2008 I had my first child and made the decision to stay home full time. During the past 7 years I’ve continued to stay home full time with my three kids but I’ve also taken freelance pattern making jobs and worked on other creative projects. In early 2015 I enrolled in Lauren Dahl’s Pattern Workshop Class. I was so excited to translate my traditional pattern making skills to creating digital pdf pattens to share with you. My goal is to offer patterns with simple but detailed instructions, offer designs that are fashionable and unique, while creating a welcoming community around my business. I hope you enjoy my first release, the Fishtail Kimono. This week we will see some amazing looks during the Holiday Debut Blog Tour. Check out this fantastic line up.
