I’ve promised a Fringe Maxi Tutorial since I released the Fringe Blouse & Dress Pattern in August. Somehow it’s already October but I’m happy to have this post up for you. I think the Fringe Maxi makes a pretty perfect holiday dress, and since the holidays are right around the corner I may have purchased more fabric for another Fringe Maxi.

I made this first Fringe Maxi when I was sewing photo samples for release, and I’ve been dying to share it with you. I wore this out to a summer concert with girlfriends. I sized down, made the slits high, and omitted the pockets. I love this dress but I knew if I made another I would want to sew my true size and include the pockets.

Fabric: Rivercane in Rayon from April Rhodes Heritage collection
Fabric purchased from Imagine Gnats

I was thrilled when Jill of Kneesocks and Goldilocks said she was going to sew up a Fringe Maxi. When she sent me these photos, I just about died. They are stunning, and the lush background looks so amazing! This dress is a show stopper and a perfect pairing for this pattern.

Fabric: Birch Floral in Navy from the Les Fleurs collection from Cotton + Steel & Rifle Paper Co.

I recently wrote a post for Fabric.com about why I recommend Tricot Fusible Interfacing for all of my patterns. I took that opportunity to sew another Fringe Maxi. This time sewed my true size, included the pockets and lowered the slits. I was a little worried if this fabric would be too much for a full-length dress, but nope, I totally love it.

Fabric: Cotton + Steel Menagerie Rayon Lawn in Monstera Midnight
